Pets in Tamanend Park
Pets are welcome in Tamanend Park. Please make sure to leash your dog and pick up waste and deposit in a trash receptacle.
Leashing is doubly important as fox and coyote have been spotted in the park. Also unleashed dogs have been known to bite other visitors. Below is an image of a fox and coyote so you can recognize them.
A fox has orangish-red fur on its back, sides and head. It has white fur under its neck and on its chest. It has a long bushy tail tipped in white, pointed black ears and black legs and feet. A fox is mostly nocturnal.
Coyotes resemble a medium size dog. They range in color from gray to brown and have pointed ears and a narrow muzzle. They typically weigh from 20 - 30 pounds. Coyotes are generally nocturnal.
